Frequently asked questions

What does K.D.P. 462/2021 require for GPS on waste trucks?
Under Article 33(10), every Collector–Transporter must install a GPS device on each vehicle used for waste collection and/or transport, aiming at traceability and cracking down on illegal dumping.
Is any GPS enough?
No. Annex I sets minimum specifications: continuous 24/7 recording, an electronic map with points of interest, at least 24 months of data retention, and CE marking with a Declaration of Conformity.
How much history can the platform retain?
iTrack states route storage capability of up to 5 years — above the Decree's minimum 24-month requirement.
Can I add fuel monitoring or other functions later?
Yes. Depending on equipment and vehicle compatibility, advanced functions such as CANbus/fuel data, driver identification, cameras, Connected Drivers and ERP/CRM integrations can be added.
Does the Decree apply to small businesses with only a few skips?
Yes. The obligation applies to every Collector–Transporter, regardless of fleet size — from a single skip to a full truck fleet.
